GENERAL MANAGER RETAIL (AIRPORT TERMINAL) - MUMBAI - AIRPORT MANAGEMENT
Our client is an international infrastructure client and they now require a General Manager – Retail at the New Terminal for the new airport in Mumbai.
Job Purpose:
Responsible for strategizing and implementing the retail & revenue model and define/refine the same on a continuous basis for the new integrated passenger terminal.
Key Elements of the Role
•Develop the retail business model of the new terminal
•Define the “brand personality” of the airport’s retail offering
•Identify partners/brands/chains for the retail ventures in new terminal
•Work with Projects Team to define the retail infrastructure
•Ensure al steps are taken to build the right retail infrastructure for the new terminal
•Implement all plans & projects to ensure that the retail infrastructure is ready to open when terminal starts operations
•Maximize revenues
Educational Qualification
MBA in Marketing & Finance, preferable with CA.
Experience :
Essential: 15+ years Commercial / Retail experience in international Airports of repute. Handling systems and processes which enable streamlined data maintenance and analysis, and legal agreements would be preferable.
Technical / Functional Skills Required
Strategic Orientation: Knowledge of principles and methods for ensuring quantitative and qualitative modeling of developing a sustaining stream of revenues and design of service large mall/airport commercial property/Real Estate projects of similar nature and complexity.
Data driven Business Orientation: Follows and implements a strict and effective data driven perspective on the business, keeping in mind key processes and events, recording data/events to ensure a high level of analytical bent of mind is used to transactional decision making.
Presentation Skills: Needs to have a clear, analytical and focused thinking style that generates practical insights into multiple complex streams of revenue, and ability to disseminate information on progress v/s objectives in a quantitative as well as qualitative manner.
Written & Oral Communication: The ability to listen, interpret and convey information in a clear and accurate manner, timely delivery of information and selecting the most appropriate method of communication. Also includes the ability to deal effectively with others on a personal level and demonstrating fairness in interactions with others (internal team and external).
Commercial & Legal Negotiations: Ability to negotiate effectively with individual concessionaires as well as large and organized intermediaries in the fields of Aviation, F&B, Retail, Duty Free, Advertising, etc
Collaborative Partnership and Networking: Promotes cooperation and teamwork while working to achieve collective outcomes, showing an understanding and accurate interpretation of others’ abilities, strengths and limitations.
Customer Orientation: Focuses effort on understanding and exceeding expectations of the internal/external customers. Ability to use data effectively to analyze and sense revenue generating opportunities based on analysis of passenger profiles and buying behaviour.
Drive for results: Focuses on achieving goals and results; willing to persist in the face of obstacles.
Change Orientation: Generates novel and valuable ideas and uses these ideas to develop new or improved processes, methods or systems, showing a self-directed attitude and openness towards continuous learning and change.
