Operations Sustainment & Support (OS&S) supporting the Ground based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program requires an A Level technician, who works under close supervision to support Prime Mission Equipment maintenance at Fort Greely, Alaska. The position is multi-disciplined, specializing in missile and ground support systems. Position performs preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repairs, replacements and calibration of mechanical and electrical components. Maintains equipment maintenance logs to document repairs or replacement of launch support equipment. Conduct regular data acquisition and circuit tests to track system performance, analyze trends, and recognize any anomalies that may affect system integrity. Perform required procedures to correct or mitigate any system alarms, anomalies, or failures. Mission requirements and/or work load may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Position requires an ability to perform manual labor inside or outside throughout the year in a variety of extreme weather conditions. Must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 40 pounds. Must have valid drivers license. Commercial driver's license, forklift and or lift truck certification a plus. Must be able to attend job-related training/certification, possibly requiring Company-paid travel out of state. Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading launch site components to correct failures or implement changes. Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Works on and around ordnance, after company provided training and certification. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). US citizen with Secret clearance or higher required for this position.

Job is located at Fort Greely, AK 100 miles SE of Fairbanks. This position supports a 24/7 maintenance operation. *Limited Moving Incentive (lump sum only) may be available. Housing allowance may be available. Temporary on-site housing may be provided dependant upon Government availability. Over time, on-call rotation, and call backs to support work requests will be required after normal working hours, on holidays, and weekends. Required to support Boeing Team at other locations and be available for off-site training. Travel required. Applicant must be able obtain a secret clearance. Cold Weather Work Clothing Allowance is available. The Ground-based Midcourse Defense system (GMD) is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks. This position requires the individual to perform work tasks in an operational missile defense complex or at operational interceptor launch facilities where system assets are subject to war fighter deployment. An operational missile field or an operational interceptor facility have significant inherent health and safety risks and individuals are required to train, understand, and observe extensive safety and process controls to help protect persons and equipment.
