Graduate Systems Engineer - Essex UK
Our client is an internationally recognised leader in the defence and government electronics, space, information technology, and technical services markets.

As a company they are committed to driving strategic growth, establishing an inclusive culture, and developing an environment for learning and due to project workload they currently require a Graduate Systems Engineer for their office in Essex.
Role Overview - (Primarily required to support a major new defence Command & Control programme)
The Defence Targeting Toolset (DTT) programme is a major element in our client's strategic development into the C2 business area. Our client has recently successfully completed the AP phase and are now moving into the Development and Manufacturing (D&M) Phase. To support this, our client is expanding its team based in Essex.
They are looking for bright, enthusiastic and professional graduates to join the systems engineering teams. The work will be varied and challenging and provides an opportunity to be part of an innovative and exciting programme as well as providing future personal growth and career development
The graduate systems engineering roles will need to support formal project meetings and working groups so candidates must be comfortable with collaborative working to develop an overall solution.
The Graduate Systems Engineers will be responsible to the Systems Design Authority and the Systems IPT Lead for the programme.
Graduate Systems Engineers will:
" Help to document the customer/user needs and ensure that the programme understands these needs.
" Help ensure that requirements for lower-level products are derived from system level requirements using the architecture and a documented analysis or model.
" Assist in the reporting to the System Design Authority for specific aspects of the technical solution
" Help in the preparation of technical specifications and trade studies pertinent to the system development
" Support systems integration and test activities to demonstrate the system for the purposes of validation, verification and qualification
" Ensure that all engineering activities undertaken under their control are conducted to a common standard that reflects best practice, and are in accordance with our client's Policy.
" Use our client's 6 Sigma proactively to foster a culture of continuous process improvement.
" Maintain the technical content of documentation and standards of engineering work being performed on the programme within their technical control.
Required Skills:
" You will be Degree qualified in Systems Engineering or related discipline (ideally 2:1 and above)
" Understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and good awareness of relevant mothodologies and toolsets
" Able to effectively communicate using verbal and written methods
" Awareness of one or more Software technology (Oracle database, Java, DOORS, UML) would be desirable
" Awareness of Architecture Frameworks (e.g MoDAF, DoDAF) desirable
" Any relevant Industrial Placement or work experience would be advantageous, as would a relevant Final Year Project.
