This position is contingent upon The Boeing Company receiving program award for the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) program. Responsible for system requirements development, interface definition, and verification on the IBCS Program. Analyze customer and contractor developed concept of operations, system requirements specifications, and other program information sources. Decompose system and prime item level requirements and allocate them to subsystems. Analyze and define subsystem interfaces and document the relationship in interface control documents. Develop metrics to enable the tracking and reporting of system requirement and interface control activities. Work closely with the program Interface Control Working Group (ICWG). Work closely with IBCS prime contractor, Northrop Grumman, to ensure coordination of requirements and interfaces from system level to prime item and subsystem level. Work closely with Boeing sub-contractors to ensure subsystem requirements are properly documented, analyzed, and verified. This position will report to the IBCS Lead P&F Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead but, will work very closely and collaboratively with Boeing Advanced Systems. Candidate should be able to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Works under general direction. Preferred candidate will have Systems Engineering Requirements Development and Verification experience and an education background and familiarity with some of the following: electronic, database centric, requirements management systems (DOORS); program and subsystem level interface control working groups; collaborative, integrated product team development environments; proposal development; good customer/prime/sub-contractor communication skills; Familiarization with Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) processes is a plus.

Complete knowledge of technical data verification and validation practices (e.g., Technical review of Engineering Data, Laboratory simulation, or actual procedure demonstration).

Typical Education/Experience

 

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
