Infosec Engineer (Information Security) - Stevenage UK
ROLE PURPOSE: Infosec systems engineering and production of security Risk Management and Accreditation Documents.
Extremely well respected in the Defence industry our client is a world-leading missile and missile systems manufacturer with operations in France, Germany, Italy and Britain, over 10,000 employees and an annual turnover of over €3 bn.
Formed following a merger of the 3 main missile producers in Europe our client has benefited the combined experience gained from fifty years of technological and operational success.
Working with nearly 100 armed forces worldwide our client is the only Group capable of designing and producing missiles and missile systems to meet the whole range of current and future operational requirements for the three armed forces (army, navy, air force). Overall, the Group offers a range of 45 products in service and another 15 in development.
Positioned at the heart of the European defence sector as well as establishing cooperative transatlantic links with the principal groups in the US defence industry our client has demonstrated its ability to bring together the best skills across the whole of Europe, and has succeeded in becoming the prime contractor for a series of strategic multi-national programmes.
They are currently looking for an Information Security Engineer to be based at their Stevenage office.
Salary up to £50k depending on experience.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Information Security Risk Analysis and Risk Treatment, responsible for the generation, promotion and realization of the Infosec strategy on given projects.
Involvement in entire systems engineering lifecycle including specification of security requirements, development of security architectures, reviewing design and implementation, specification of verification requirements and review of verification outputs.
Development of Risk Management and Accreditation Documents in accordance with UK MOD requirements.
Application and interpretation of HMG and MOD Infosec Policy.
Management of and support to HMG security evaluation schemes such as CTAS, Common Criteria, IT Health Check, CAPS.
Contribution to and conduct of trade studies related to security.
Assist in the integration of Infosec activities with system engineering and design programs to ensure the timely delivery of material supporting the security case.
Liaison with customers, accreditors and technical authorities.
Maintain own knowledge of HMG and MOD Infosec policy and guidance.
Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of one or more technical aspects of Infosec.
Contribute to corporate Infosec knowledge and capability.
Maintain own knowledge of technology development and implications for Information Security.
Contribute to corporate knowledge of technology development and implications for Information Security.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Ability to perform comprehensive risk assessments and produce risk treatment strategies that are acceptable to the MOD security authorities and that permit solutions that are acceptable (to project Chief Engineer, Customer and User as appropriate) in terms of cost, development time, development risk and operational impacts.
Delivery of documentation and supporting materials that is timely and acceptable to the above stakeholder community.
Delivery of innovative design solutions utilizing the breadth and depth of Engineering techniques.
Adapts behavior and approach to changing circumstances. Work is appropriately scoped in terms of complexity and level of effort to fit the context.
Successful completion of work packages to time and on budget within agreed parameters and objectives. Management of tasks within an overall programme of larger scope and complexity.

LOGISTICS
Must be willing to undertake occasional travel within UK (mainly to visit other sites, but also customer, user and authority locations).
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Specific:
Demonstrable knowledge of the application of HMG and MOD Infosec Policy and Guidance.
Experience in generation of Security Risk Assessments, Risk Treatment Plans and Risk Management and Accreditation Documents.
Demonstrable knowledge of systems engineering, electronics principles and software technology and development.
General:
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to work without day-to-day supervision, must know when to seek assistance.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt message content depending on audience or stakeholder set
Ability to discern the key technical, commercial, and programme influences from available 'noisy' information
Ability to make, and communicate cost, schedule adherence, and technical performance trade-offs
Systems thinker and systems engineering experience.
ECONOMICS
Work package size ranging from £5 to £150k
Due to the nature of this position it is a legal requirement that all candidates must be able to pass Security Clearance. This means you must have been in the UK for the last 5 years and hold a British passport.
