Understands the integration of the scheduling and business systems. Develops program and/or project level schedules for both recurring and non-recurring aspects of new business, proposals, and ongoing production and/or change driven activities. Develops and executes new programs and derivatives schedules based on number one unit flows and application of appropriate learning curves with direction from a subject matter expert. Develops detailed master schedules, utilizing thorough understanding of scheduling processes, techniques and philosophies. Integrates program plans and schedules, horizontally and vertically, across company functional and product groups, suppliers and partners. Performs schedule-related risk and opportunity analyses. Understands integration of the data tables and software applications. Analyzes manufacturing operating plans, document constraints, determine capacity and negotiate alternatives as required. Translates operating plans into appropriate systems/tools. Generates, edits, and validates schedule data. Identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts. Identifies and reports schedule performance variances and associated cost impacts to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas. Performs scheduling impact analyses related to a change request and incorporates approved changes. Ensures configuration control of integrated program plans and schedules. Develops solutions to problems and applies process improvements. Trains co-workers on the data integration between master schedules and down stream systems, as well as processes used to pass the data. Develops presentations that portray the philosophy and techniques applied to build the production schedule. Analyzes impact of rate, new program, and special scenarios Represents the firing order process within workshops for process improvements and value stream mapping exercises. Initiates and implements internal process improvements.

Complete knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Complete knowledge of the interaction between departments/ disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).

Mathematical Reasoning
Complete ability to determine, apply, and perform complex arithmetic operations in order to solve practical math problems. This includes the ability to extract, interpret and model relevant information from tables, charts, graphs, and text.

Operations Processes
Complete knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed by various Operations departments/disciplines (e.g., Fabrication, Assembly, Tooling, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering). Complete knowledge of the interactions between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-operations processes (e.g., Engineering, Business, Logistics).

Scheduling Requirements
Complete knowledge of customer and supplier requirements to support program deliveries, for example planned versus unplanned demand, economic order quantity, resource planning, material type, manufacture or purchase, lead times.

Scheduling Tools
Solid working knowledge of master schedule tools and their application (e.g., #1 Flow, critical path analysis, trend analysis, improvement curve theory, precedence network).

Typical Education/Experience



Bachelor's and related work experience, a Master's degree and related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Other Job related information



Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a strong plus. Mastery of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel are very important. Knowledge of or experience with mixed-model production is a plus.
