Description of the job
A position has arisen for a Landing Gear Systems Certification Engineer in the Landing Gear Centre of Competancy (CoC). The
sucessful candidate will need to ensure compliance with all applicable Airworthiness regulations for all Landing Gear systems,
including Extension/Retraction, Brakes and Steering.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the certification of a high profile aircraft programme by developing a vital
communication link between the Landing Gear design teams and the Airworthiness Authorities at the critical time of the design
and development of Airbus aircraft.

Tasks
Working as part of a team of Landing Gear Systems Engineers your main role will be to support the
Specialist (DCS) and the design teams in demonstrating the certification compliance of ATA32 (Landing
Airworthiness Authorities (EASA), for a number of programmes including the A30X.
Your key responsibilities will be;
preparing and presenting certification documentation for submission to EASA; you will, on occasion,
evidence to non-EASA authorities;
supporting the certification process by organising and participating in periodic face to face Certification
regulators (EASA hydromechanical panel and assistant software specialist);
managing the production of certification compliance documentation in accordance with the development
project;
assisting the design specialists to provide timely action item answers for the Airworthiness Authorities'
assisting the ATA32 certification activities associated with major modifications, weight variants and
associated commitments from the design teams to provide the required inputs on schedule;
ensuring regular communication with the design teams, other DCS and Airworthiness function.

Skills
With a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Areonautical Engineering, you will have experience of working with landing gear
systems (design and/or certification), you should be able to demonstrate the following;
- excellent communication, negociation organisational skills;
- aptitude to assume an important customer facing role;
- ability to present technical and safety arguments to a knowledgeable audience;
- prior experience with certification airworthiness methods and policies (desirable);
- knowledge about Airbus safety process organization (desirable);
- excellent practice of English, both spoken and written.
