Division – Airbus (Filton)
Role – Lead / Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineers

Job Description
Airbus has engineering positions available, including leading engineering roles, within its Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) function. The roles involve the analysis of composite and metallic aircraft structures using standard fatigue, crack growth and residual strength calculations to assess and develop design solutions.

Successful applicants will have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and practical experience as an F&DT Engineer, preferably within the aircraft industry. Your experience will include fatigue analysis of metallic structures and use of a range of standard hand and computer methods, as well as a sound understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for fatigue and crack growth. A good working knowledge of PC and mainframe computer systems is required, together with a proficient use of the application of Finite Element analysis and aircraft production methods. You will also have an understanding of lean principles to in order to support continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency.

Additional Tasks for Lead Positions
• Providing technical leadership
• Project management of tasks and when required, technical management of suppliers
• Signatory for stress and F&DT
• Managing interfaces with adjacent work packages or sub-assemblies.
