This Mechanical Systems Design position is required in support of a contract award to Boeing, Dallas, Texas. The program is an advanced technologies program that will design, manufacture, integrate, test, and deliver, both hardware and software. Provides oversight and direction to develop, integrate and document complex mechanical system requirements to establish the system design. Leads development, modification, and maintenance of mechanical/mechanism system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods. Provides product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Familiarity with Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and the requirements for demonstration of technical maturity preferred. Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation of analyses of mechanisms/components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design. Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under minimal direction.

Mech Component/System Eng

Typical Education/Experience



Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and experience, Master's with experience or PhD with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Other Job related information



Position requires a current Secret Clearance - Eligibility to live and work in US Required or equivalent (Refer to Security Clearance Definitions link above). Applicants MUST include their security clearance level, investigation type and investigation date clearly on their resume. Additionally, applicants must be able to obtain program access. Top Secret Clearance is preferred. Prefer at least 8 to 10 years of aerospace mechanical/structural design experience with strong background in mechanical systems or landing gear design. Have a working knowledge of lean engineering and manufacturing principles including 3D Parametric Modeling, Design for Manufacturing Assembly in a Model Based Environment. Proficiency in CATIA V5 is preferred and a practical knowledge of TeamCenter or ENOVIA PDM is desired. Experience with advanced kinematic design and analysis tools such as ADAMS is preferred. Experience with blueprint, MIL-STD-100, drawings is preferred. Candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required. Filling this requisition is contingently on the applicant's ability to obtain the required program access. Security clearance upgrades and/or program access request will be initiated after the applicant's acceptance of the contingent offer. Relocation to Dallas, Texas will not be authorized before appropriate access is granted.
