This ECS/Thermal Systems Design position is required in support of a contract awarded to Boeing, Dallas, Texas. The program is an advanced technologies program that will design, manufacture, integrate, test, and deliver, both hardware and software. Establishes and documents environmental/thermal engineering and system level design requirements (e.g. performance, environment, functionality, life, envelope, integration). Evaluates requirements for completeness and feasibility. Performs and documents analyses of environmental/thermal components and systems using models and tools to validate or assess the design. Analyses include performance, root cause, sensitivity, thermal and icing. Prepares technical documents for systems to facilitate knowledge retention for future use per applicable requirements. Tasks include: test reports, analyses, presentations, design decision memoranda, lessons learned, design data documents. Develops and executes plans and procedures to verify and validate that environmental, icing protection, and thermal control systems and technologies were designed, built and operate in accordance with requirements, by analysis and/or test to support certification and compliance with regulations and internal/external requirements and document results. Defines verification approach to a wide range of complex systems and components. Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Typical Education/Experience



Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and related experience, Master's with related experience or PhD with related experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Other Job related information



Position requires a current Secret Clearance - Eligibility to live and work in US Required or equivalent (Refer to Security Clearance Definitions link above). Applicants MUST include their security clearance level, investigation type and investigation date clearly on their resume. Top Secret Clearance is preferred. Additionally, applicants must be able to obtain specific program access. Prefer 8 to 10 years of aircraft ECS/thermal analysis design experience. Proficiency in aircraft electro-thermal ice protection and control system design, procurement, testing and certification required. Proficiency in thermal analysis tools such as Netheat, Heatran, ICCA, Matrix X, and LEWICE is preferred. Experience with blueprint, MIL-STD-100, drawings is preferred. Candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required. Filling this requisition is contingent on the applicant's ability to obtain the required security clearance. Security clearance upgrades and/or program access request will be initiated after the applicant's acceptance of the contingent offer. Relocation to Dallas, Texas will not be authorized before contract award and appropriate access is granted.
