Qualifications:

  • The candidate shall have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering preferably with a concentration in Communications.
  • Must have experience in Navigational Aids Communications and Radar equipment.

Experience:

  • The candidate shall be a highly-trained professional with proven expertise in the areas of Navigational Aids Equipment.
  • In addition, must have at least five (5) years experience with communications systems such as UHF, VHF and HF, and at least five (5) years experience with Enhanced Voice Terminal Switch.
  • The position provides immediate support with sound practices based on the most progressive requirements and techniques applicable to Navigational Aids systems.
  • At least five (5) years practical Navigational Aids Communications and E.T.V.S. systems experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently, completing multiple and often competing tasks.
  • Must be competent in MS Windows for Workgroups.
  • Must have experience with UHF/VHF/HF Radios and Airport Surveillance Radar (SAR).
  • Experience with Harris HF equipment, Park Air UHF/VHF radios, Tellabs Crash Telephone systems and Enhanced Terminal Voice Switch systems is preferred.

Duties:

  • Provide operation and maintenance of all communications and ASR systems.
  • Evaluate equipment programmatic difficulties and provide acceptable solutions to overcome them.
  • Identify errors in the systems and propose corrective actions, including systems integration and documentation.
  • Provide preventive maintenance and documentation of maintenance performed.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and corrective action on assigned equipment.
  • Supports the RSAF Officer-in-Charge by:
  • Coordinating Navigational Aids engineering and management activities.
  • Keeping him informed of the real-time maintenance status of all assigned equipment to brief his officer-in-charge, whenever required.
  • Training RSAF personnel, as required.
  • Suggesting improvements to the systems and to maintenance procedures.
  • Performing maintenance functions, as required.
  • Providing support and advising on manning requirements for the system
