Applies knowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle. Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances. Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions. Identifies documents, analyzes reported problems and communicates deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommends and manages resolution. Develops and implements product/process improvements. Supports Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participates in design reviews. Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment. Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards. Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Participates in on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support team. Analyzes damage repair or structural modification to determine appropriate jacking and shoring, prevent collateral damage and assure a safe work environment. Designs interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis. Develops non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards. Conducts simple static strength analysis.

Basic - Complete knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Complete knowledge of the interaction between departments/ disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).
Preferred - Extensive and specialized knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Extensive and specialized knowledge of the interaction between departments/ disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).

Liaison Repair Methodology
Basic - Complete knowledge of liaison repair methodology including: repair processes, component repair concepts (e.g. structural, electrical/avionics, systems, weapons), procedures (e.g., inspection, disassembly, re-assembly, testing, manufacturing), warranty processes, and contractual agreements.
Preferred - Extensive and specialized knowledge of liaison repair methodology including: repair processes, component repair concepts (e.g. structural, electrical/avionics, systems, weapons), procedures (e.g., inspection, disassembly, re-assembly, testing, manufacturing), warranty processes, contractual agreements. Identifies areas requiring additional engineering disposition.

Product Review Process
Basic - Complete knowledge of Universal Product Review (UPR) including Material Review Authorization (MRA), Materials Review Board (MRB) processes, supplier delegated MRB processes (e.g., authorization, qualification, maintenance, disclosure), and post-production review.
Preferred - Extensive and specialized knowledge of Universal Product Review (UPR) including Material Review Authorization (MRA), Materials Review Board (MRB) processes, supplier delegated MRB processes (e.g., authorization, qualification, maintenance, disclosure), and post-production review.

Typical Education/Experience



Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's proven experience, Master's degree proven experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and proven experience, Master's with proven experience or PhD with proven experience. Other Job related information



This position requires knowledge of structural design, rework, and repair with an emphasis on composite technology. The candidate will be assigned to the V22 Osprey Program in Amarillo Texas, with the potential to travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for training and coordination. Must have some aircraft systems experience, preferably V22 related.
