Lead hourly and salaried employees daily with tasks set forth by program driven schedules. Report on accomplishments and deficiencies each shift. Maintain adherence to processes and procedures for the work area. Able to work from design drawing and written instructions requiring correlation to meet laboratory and production requirements. Understand and execute on program directed tasks. Communicate with all levels of management and workforce. Maintain records of work performed in build packages. Record and maintain process logs for tooling and work area. Act as PIC (Person In Charge) when performing flight hardware moves.

General Shop Processes
General knowledge of basic shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).

Manufacturing Knowledge
General knowledge of aerospace product configuration, assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, testing, manufacturing capabilities, planning, systems, support equipment, and tooling to support emergent and routine requirements. General ability to apply manufacturing knowledge in support of supply chain management.

Operations Improvement
Apply general knowledge of Industrial Engineering process improvement strategies and Lean techniques (e.g., methods analysis, work combination charts, ergonomics, TOC, 3P, Six Sigma, AIW, LMA, visual controls, safety) to analyze and improve operations.

Operations Processes
General knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed by various Operations departments/disciplines (e.g., Fabrication, Assembly, Tooling, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering). General knowledge of the interactions between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-operations processes (e.g., Engineering, Business, Logistics).

Typical Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Job related information

Good communications skills, both written and verbal, able to communicate with internal customers, co-workers, suppliers and product line management. Must be organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects. Able to work in a deadline driven/fast-paced, multi-task environment utilizing good judgment to analyze risks, make decisions, resolve problems and accomplish tasks. Demonstrated knowledge or experience with directing bargaining unit employees. Working knowledge of rolling stock such as forklifts, lift-a-lofts, scissor lifts, and cranes. Working knowledge of rigging techniques and lifting devices. Experience with precision drilling, mechanical integration, bonding and working with hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of the PIC (Person In Charge) process and ability to perform in this capacity. Proven experience directing cross functional integration teams, including leading bargaining unit employees.
