Position Overview / Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the overall planning, operation and performance of a specific program within the business unit.
  • Organizes the operation and resources to supply quality product/services to customers including delivery, billing, collection and ensuring customer satisfaction to maintain and improve the competitive position and profitability of the program.
  • Develops, maintains and implements plans supporting the program's strategic goals.
  • Develops and recommends short and long range objectives consistent with corporate and SBU guidelines.
  • Directs management teams and technical resources in areas such as operations, engineering, materiel, quality control, and finance; develops and maintains a work environment favorable for employee relations; investigates and implements new methods/technologies to increase cost effectiveness of operations.
  • Monitors expenses and work processes and procedures to allow for the greatest possible return on investment while achieving the goals and objectives of the business unit.
  • Evaluates labour, equipment, manpower, budgets, inventory needs and other programs to maximize opportunities.
  • Maintains appropriate communications within and between various functional areas on the business unit.
  • Promotes a spirit of cooperation within the assigned area of responsibility, other SBU programs, and other business units and the various functional Vice Presidents.
  • Ensures that the company's policies are both communicated and implemented.
  • Provides a work environment that complies with all safety and regulatory requirements in relation to employees, products and customers.
  • Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
  • Responsible for facilitating Continuous Improvement activities within the program.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Aviation experience in a turbine engine environment is REQUIRED.
  • Experience with APU's (auxiliary power units) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, commerce or other related discipline; or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience as a middle manager in aerospace, or manufacturing; or a related field.   (This position will directly manage 4 customer service reps and indirectly manage 3 engineers.)
