Position Description:
The Program Manager for the Acquisition Category (ACAT) 1 D Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) contract. The successful candidate will provide business and technology leadership and guidance for a Navy competitive development program in which the winning contractor will provide the Navy's fleet with new and improved secure networked enterprise computing environments. The initial phase of the contract will be in competition with another competitor until down select at the next program phase. Responsibilities include external and internal customer management, oversight and guidance in selection of technical solutions, quality, cost, schedule, and supply chain management. Major responsibilities include driving day-to-day execution for an information technology program including ensuring that the selected architecture will best support Industry COTS based technology insertion and adapt to evolving threats and technology in the Information Assurance domain. This position must effectively manage a large number of teammates and suppliers that provide a range of products and services ranging from engineering and ships' installation services to commercial suppliers of COTS enterprise computing hardware and software. The position will report to the Director of Integrated Ship Systems within the C3 Networks Division. The successful candidate will also be required to implement an effective business strategy to remain cost competitive (and capability competitive) in order to ensure a competitive win of the next contract phase.

Other Job related information

 

Typical Education/Experience Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with background in adapting COTS information technology to large scale enterprise computing solutions for DoD customers. Experience with developing Information Assurance and Cross Domain solutions helpful. Prior Navy experience and experience with PEO C4I or SPAWAR is preferred. The successful candidate will be from a multi-disciplinary background with a proven track record of having demonstrated the key competencies listed above. Previous experience as a Program Manager on DoD development programs required. Other Job related information This position is contingent on the award of a competitive contract expected between November 2009 and January 2010. The prime work location will be at the Boeing offices in San Diego, CA with periodic travel to the Boeing offices in Huntington Beach, CA. Candidate must be a US Person as defined by ITAR requirements and have a current US DoD Secret or higher clearance.
