The candidate chosen for this position will serve as a Program Export Focal for KC-135 Programs. Boeing's export compliance strategy includes an organization in Corporate that has company-wide responsibilities for Export-Import (Global Trade Controls). Each business unit in Boeing also has embedded organizations that manage the responsibilities for export controls on behalf of those businesses. The individuals who perform this role report into the programs as Program Export Focals (PEFs) and perform this role full-time for IDS (Integrated Defense Systems) Program Management. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who, ideally, has experience or familiarity with export controls, but also has skills and interest related to Program Management and the way export control requirements and related schedules are actually implemented in the business. This position oversees execution of export control strategies.

This Program Export Focal (PEF) position is responsible for implementing export compliance processes and analyzing the program's statement of work in order to identify and address export compliance requirements. The candidate facilitates the development and integration of strategic license plans that enable the program to integrate its business opportunities and goals with schedules to obtain export authorizations and present plans to leadership for approval. The program export focal will utilize their program knowledge and interface with multiple functions to ensure export authorization request packages are complete, accurate and timely and that records in support of export authorizations are properly maintained.

The program export focal will leverage Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) to execute export control responsibilities, including integration into the Integrated Master Schedule, identification of risks, issues, and opportunities and the development/execution of mitigation plans as needed. The position will coordinate commitments with internal and external stakeholders, monitor day-to-day program export activities and advise program personnel on use of export processes and tools. The PEF coordinates and clarifies the analysis with business partners to develop and validate implementation plans. PEFs utilize management forums to communicate status information on commitments, compliance to plan, and process health measures. The position requires the ability to synthesize inputs from a variety of sources and build consensus, to understand and communicate requirements, and to develop plans and lead projects based on those plans. The program export focal will also represent their programs for IDS and enterprise activities as needed and the ideal candidate will provide coaching and guidance to less experienced program export focals and program personnel. The candidate will be a part of the IDS Program Export Focal community of practice where best practices and lessons learned are shared by PEFs across IDS programs.

Typical Education/Experience



Level 4 - Bachelor's degree and related work experience, a Master's degree and related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Job related information



The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more areas: export control background with emphasis on detailed knowledge of the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), experience with GS&S (Global Services and Support) business structure and concept of operations, experience in scheduling or project management, an active security clearance or ability to obtain one, and familiarity with Boeing export compliance processes and tools.
