Reviews proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development. Prepares and maintains Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed. Analyzes process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of problems. Participates with stakeholders to develop potential preventive or corrective actions and implementation. Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics, to continuously improve process capability. Conducts quality source selection and process reviews of suppliers ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions, and develops a coordinated response for management review and approval. Conducts hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements and reports results to management. Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment. Works under general direction.

Analysis and Corrective Action
Complete knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action of non-conformances to reduce scrap, minimize rework, reduce cost and improve quality to meet all requirements. Develops, reviews and approves product definition data including emergent design changes.

Operations Processes
Complete knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed by various Operations departments/disciplines (e.g., Fabrication, Assembly, Tooling, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering). Complete knowledge of the interactions between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-operations processes (e.g., Engineering, Business, Logistics).

Process Management Skills
Complete ability to determine the process to be used to accomplish goals, properly document processes, know how to organize people and activities, understand how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow, identify opportunities for synergy and integration, and simplify complex processes.

Product Review Process
Complete knowledge of Universal Product Review (UPR) including Material Review Authorization (MRA), Materials Review Board (MRB) processes, supplier delegated MRB processes (e.g., authorization, qualification, maintenance, disclosure), and post-production review.

Quality Systems/Standards
Complete knowledge of the quality system (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS91001).

Typical Education/Experience



Bachelor's and related work experience, a Master's degree and related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Other Job related information



This position supports the Ares program at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA. This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. Eligibility to live and work in US Required. This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing. Physical work demands moderate to strenuous effort. Must be able to lift items ranging from 10-50 pounds; must have ability to stand frequently or for long periods of time and perform tasks that require climbing, kneeling, bending, pulling, pushing and other related activities. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
