These FSR positions are collocated with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Detroit Sector Operations in support of the SBInet program Northern Border Project. FSRs will report to the Field Service Manager located at the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Primary Support Facility (PSF) located in Tucson, AZ. The successful candidates provide field operation and/or support of all delivered SBInet equipment within the Detroit Sector. Duties: Coordinate the development of routine troubleshooting procedures to isolate equipment problems not detected by tactical diagnostics/documentation. Documents field site activities. Provide interpretation of technical documents. Provide specialized on-the-job training to customers. Develop and provide solutions to a wide variety of technically complex problems. Perform business activities and maintain the administrative and supplemental logistics functions of a field office. Guide others. Work under general direction.

 Maintenance Programs
Complete knowledge and understanding of the customer's preventive and corrective maintenance programs, concepts, and implementation.

 Product Support Technical Data
Complete knowledge of product support technical data requirements and formats (e.g., review and interpret Engineering data/drawings, Maintenance Manuals, cataloging, Structural Repair Manuals, Time Compliance Technical Order [TCTO], manufacturing plans) to support product deliverables.

 Test Equipment
Complete knowledge and is proficient in the operation, integration, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automatic test equipment (e.g., Avionics Intermediate Shop [AIS], Tactical Intermediate Support System [TISS], Servocylinder Test Set [STS], Electrical Optical Test Set [EOTS], Hybrid Test Set [HTS], Intermediate Avionics Test Set [IATS]) and associated software, Test Program Sets (TPS), and programming codes.

Typical Education/Experience

 

Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Job related information

 

The successful candidates must currently possess a security clearance and must successfully pass a background investigation by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Security Directorate and be awarded final suitability status for the SBI program. Individuals will be required to travel frequently in the local area to support the various deployed systems and should anticipate travel to other nearby states in support of program objectives. Individuals' duties will require climbing remote communications and sensor towers, up to a maximum of 200 feet to accomplish maintenance, for which training will be provided.
