Software Intern PRE-PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER (Summer Interm position duration May/June through Aug/Sept): Activities and duties perform design and development of state-of-the art software systems for space-based applications. Activities and duties will include requirements and interface definition; software development (code, test, debug, & documentation); maintenance of software development libraries, test reports, and configuration management. Project assignments will try to take into account the Intern academic background, interests and other needs. The intern may join an existing program and work with senior employees who will provide guidance and assistance on a task or may work independently on a specific effort with staff support.

Competencies



Academic and/or intern experience should include exposure to any of the following: software engineering, computer engineering or other similar disciplines. Experience with the following programming languages: C, C++, Java; programmer hardware devices. Understanding of software development methodology. Candidates must be self-motivated with the ability to plan and execute, learn quickly, problem solve, communicate effectively, and demonstrate initiative and teamwork


Typical Education/Experience



High school diploma or GED.


Other Job related information



Candidates who are working towards a BS or MS with emphasis in Computer Science or Computer Engineer. GPA > 3.2. Ability to obtain security clearance; Eligibility to live and work in U.S. required. Summer Interm position duration May-Aug
