Boeing Research & Technology has a need for an experienced system dynamicist/operations analyst to support system dynamics modeling, simulation and analysis for a variety of activities across civil and military domains. Efforts will range from simple project models to complex resource allocation models. Common across all efforts is a focus on revealing the underlying and driving behaviors in problems of short and long-term strategic value to Boeing and external customers. This position will require significant customer interaction, project leadership, and technical experience and abilities.

The successful candidate will be very experienced in creating system dynamics models having aerospace and defense applications using Vensim, AnyLogic, and/or Matlab. Experience with C++, Java, Visual Basic, and other object-oriented and scripting languages is strongly preferred. Further qualifications include: experience translating customer concepts of operation and system descriptions into executable simulations for assessing strategic decisions, operational performance (behavior over time), and structural change; conducting analysis and developing presentations of the results; demonstrated performance in verbal and written communication; capacity for self-directed and independent effort; and a desire to thrive in a fast-paced expert practitioner environment. Experience with simulation support tools for visualization, post processing, and data management is also strongly desired.

Other desirable skills include: experience and ability to perform rigorous statistical analyses; Monte Carlo simulation; knowledge of DoD procurement and acquisition processes; understanding of Systems Engineering methods and tools; broad knowledge of military operations; supply chain management; business process modeling; and real options analysis. As this is a position in a highly visible development area, the ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively with project management, engineering, and marketing personnel at all levels within the company is required.
