This individual will report to the Mission Real Time Operations IPT. This individual will provide operational support for the Space Vehicle engineering team. This individual will work closely with the spacecraft sub-system engineers to develop and refine satellite contingency procedures, support on-orbit testing, develop software tools and processes to improve the real-time Space Vehicle Engineering domain. The candidate must be able to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems in a methodical and documented manner. Track, trend, and analyze operational issues and perform system analysis to determine root cause and develop solutions. Perform quality assurance in order to maintain high quality, efficient, and robust satellite operations by focusing on continuous process improvement. This individual will also be responsible for systems analysis of existing and future ground systems, and must be able to identify requirements, perform high-level design, and help develop and implement future conops for these systems. This individual must be able to work independently and with teams and be able to provide ad hoc technical and personnel leadership as necessary.
Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Typical Education/Experience

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and proven experience, Master's with proven experience or PhD with relevant experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Location: Leesburg, VA * Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aerospace preferred). * 5-9 years of satellite operations experience preferred. * Self motivated individual capable of performing engineering tasks with minimal management oversight * Proficent in satellite subsystems, anomaly resolution, and ground system analysis This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend and evening support may be required. Some travel may be required. This posting will permit experience consideration spanning two levels to accommodate a broader spectrum of available work.
