Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Works under minimal direction.

Typical Education/Experience



Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and proven experience, Master's with proven years' experience or PhD with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

US person status required. Member of 100+ person development team supporting the Total Application System Enterprise Requirements (TASER) program. Specifically seeking systems engineers to become members of the Resource Tasking and Marketplace 2.1 (RTM 2.1) development effort. System engineering responsibilities will span the development lifecycle and include: QA, risk management, CM, design & development, integration test & evaluation, and the implementation & deployment activities. Candidate applies systems engineering knowledge and expertise to solve technical and non-technical issues between project software engineers and external organizations, such as the customer program office, end users, interface contractors, and the deployment sites. Works independently with minimum direct supervision to complete assigned tasks. Learns and applies CMMi processes. Candidate should have experience in the following areas: 1) requirements decomposition, derivation, allocation, flowdown, and management using automated tools such as DOORS; 2) generation, maintenance and baselining of system/software/hardware requirements specification documents, security C&A documentation, TPM Plans, Risk Plans, CM Plans, and CONOPS; 3) creation, development, and maintenance of system architecture models and generation of compliant DoDAF artifacts; 4) creation and maintenance of test plans and test results and the execution of tests in support of events spanning the development, selloff, and deployment phases of the system lifecycle; 5) creation and maintenance of deployment plans, training plans, and the execution of system readiness reviews, transition reviews, and acceptance reviews. Experience/proficiency with Universal Modeling Language (UML), System/SW modeling tools, requirements management tools, and configuration management tools is preferred. Any experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, UNIX, collection planning, requirements definition, testing, and/or documentation should be clearly visible on the applicant's resume. Basic Microsoft Office application (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) experience is required. Experience/knowledge of the geospatial domain and GEOINT systems is a plus. This position is contingent on the award of a competitive contract expected in late December 2009. RTM 2.1 is a fast paced Task Order (TO) driven development effort. The work location will be at the Boeing offices in Springfield, VA. The candidate must have a current SSBI and a TS/SCI security clearance.
