Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify highly-complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Leads, develops designs and conducts research that results in new requirements management methodologies or result in unique approaches that mitigate assessment/review findings. Creates and implements strategic approaches for program and business area decisions. Works independently.

Typical Education/Experience



Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 20 or more years' experience, Master's with 18 or more years' experience or PhD with 15 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Ability to Obtain Interim and/or Final Clearances (Post Start) - Candidate must be eligible to live and work in the U.S. Skills and experience with Propulsion Systems. Required knowledge of Flow dynamics analysis, pressure analysis, thruster performance analysis, etc. Technical leadership and authority required for successful Propulsion System build. Tasks and abilities to include: lead system engineering team through life cycle of Propulsion system, writing requirements, verification and validation of system requirements, support of unit level requirements, support of unit procurement, support IPT through manufacturing and build of Propulsion subsystem and lead launch and mission operations teams in support of customers. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
