Technical Business Development (UAV/Aerospace) - Bedfordshire

Our client is a small, highly skilled and very passionate consultancy specialising in the Rapid Prototyping of Unmanned and Micro Air Vehicles, Vehicle Performance & Autonomy and Miniaturised Systems.
Their services are provided in the area of airborne systems and they also provide hardware and software analysis of flight products.

Due to continued rapid expansion and the need to take new prototypes to market they are currently looking for a Business Development Manager with a highly technical background (ideally with hands on experience of UAVs) to develop and manage their client base.

Based at their office in Bedfordshire the role offers great scope for the right person to play an active part in the continued development of this exciting and cutting edge company.

Passionate individuals with a great deal of enthusiasm, motivation and a technical bias together with the ability to develop new business with clients in the defence and aerospace industry will find this a challenging yet highly rewarding role.

The highly skilled and dedicated technical team that exists at our client now needs someone to join them to take their great products and prototypes to the market, previously this was carried out by the MD but due to the expansion of the comapny they now need someone to manage this side of the business on a full time business to keep up with and continue their rapid growth.

Salary will be dependent on finding the right person and it is very important that applicants have a good technical background but have also had experience in the commercial/business development side of things.

The successful applicant who has the level of skills and enthusiasm to fit into this dynamic team will have technical aptitude and sales aptitude and amongst other things will be attending flight demos, liaising with end customers and drawing up commercial documentation and would ideally have good existing links and network within the industry.

A UAV background at delivery level would be useful and technical experience in hands-on systems integration (building the UAVs within an airframe) would be perfect.

Due to the nature of this position it is a legal requirement that all candidates must be able to obtain basic UK Security clearance in order to be considered. Therefore you either need to be a UK national or have been a permanent UK resident for the last five years continuously.
