Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyzes results and performs design reviews. Leads the team to analyze results and performs design reviews. Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Develops statements of work, metrics, schedules. Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design. Works under minimal direction.

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. This job description is for a temporary (up to 2 years) international assignment in Italy in support of the 787 program with return to the base location of Everett, Washington within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA). The temporary locations are Pomigliano D' Arco (Naples area), Foggia, and Grottaglie, Italy. Works under direction of on-site 787 program management. Successful candidates for this assignment will have 787 program experience, and experience with aircraft systems, systems installations, and systems to structures integration with focus on electrical installations. Experience with factory support, non-recurring programs, and major design changes is desired. Provide on-site electrical installation support to engineering partners to ensure successful execution of their 787-9 statement of work (i.e. requirements are met, design is spatially and functionally integrated, releases are on schedule and process requirements are satisfied). Oversees partner design, development, and test activities and coordinates with the partner to optimize the design and achieve program goals, focusing on electrical/wiring installation. In collaboration with Europe Partners/Suppliers, major tasks to include: Develop plans, set performance goals, and ensure execution of Partner statement of work related to engineering, production, production cut-over, tooling, and supply chain, including Partner sub-tiers; Monitor appropriate metrics and manage execution to ensure Partner performance to plan; Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes; Advise Partners/Suppliers in meeting schedules and resolving technical or operational problems; Support Partner process improvements; Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with stakeholders; Provide technical management of Partners/suppliers/sub-tiers; Support Program leadership in assessing risks and opportunities in cost, schedule, weight, and partner/supplier/sub-tier capability and performance; Develop and implement plans to improve supplier design capability and competency; Ensure type design, technical standards, specifications, and requirements are met; Support improved integration of product development and engineering into operations; Facilitate and coordinate information flow between the 787 Program, engineering, and suppliers. The candidate must be willing to work overtime when required. This position offers the potential to broaden skills and experience across multiple engineering disciplines. The candidate must be willing to stretch beyond their experience base and be willing to take risks to achieve objectives.
