Certification Duties 
• Liaison with EASA and National Aviation Authorities (NAA’s) 
• Liaison between the Design Organization of DEPARTMENT, EASA and NAA’s in all aspects of certification of design changes, repairs and test programs. 
• Ensuring that the required documents are provided to the Agency for approval within agreed timescales 
• Ensuring that the DOE is kept up to date as required by EASA in accordance with 21A.243 (a),(c) 
• Providing guidelines for compliance documents and certification documentation 
• Reviewing proposed completion projects 
• Establishing the Certification Plan and Certification Compliance Sheet (CCS) along with checking all compliance documentation 
• Ensuring procurement and distribution of applicable airworthiness requirements, monitoring of EASA and NAA websites for updates and NPA's and NPRM's (Notice of Proposed Amendments &amp; Notice of Proposed Rule Making) 
• Interpretation of airworthiness requirements and requesting decisions of EASA and NAA’s in case of doubt 
• Ensuring appropriate training of all certifying personnel 
• Assisting Quality Assurance in maintaining Part 21 subpart J Design Approval in responding to audit findings by EASA and NAA's, within the required timescales. 
• Co-ordination, analysis and investigation of failures, malfunctions and defects occurring in operation of products modified by department 
• Monitoring of significant events on aeronautical products in so far as relevant to determine their effect on airworthiness of products being modified by the Design Organization. 
• Ensuring the initiation of activities in response to failures (accident/incident/in-service failure) and complaints from the operator 
• Advising of all personnel in all questions regarding airworthiness and certification Cooperation with the EASA and NAA’s in developing procedures to be used for the certification process 
Coordination of all tasks related to the certification with EASA and NAA’s; 
• Close Coordination of all certification related tasks with the responsible CVE’s 
• Providing verification to the Head of the Design Organization that all activities required for the certification of a design change or a repair design have been properly completed 
Management Duties 
• Responsible for day to day project management of certification activities within the Office of Airworthiness, including time management and budgeting 
• Formulating departmental budgets in line with the established budget process 
• Functional management of Engineering Technical Documentation Department 
• Must be able to deal with management at all levels, both internally and externally. 
• Must act in a professional manner in order to protect and enhance Company's reputation as a world leader in VIP and VVIP conversions of large aircraft 
• Willingness to take ownership of challenges within the business 
• Ability to drive change to working practices and procedures to improve and enhance the Company business model 
• Must be willing to mentor and develop the skills of the certification staff by knowledge transfer 
Qualification/Experience
• Education to Degree standard, however other internationally recognised qualifications will be considered based on technical knowledge and experience 
• Proven experience in a design related certification role 
• A proven track record in aircraft modification certification and approval is essential 
• Previous experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) is essential 
• Extensive knowledge of EASA Part 21 and the requirements for large aircraft is essential 
• Knowledge of FAA regulations would be an advantage 
• Must be suitable for proposal to EASA as a Form 4 holder as Accountable Manager for Certification 
• Knowledge of Airbus and Boeing widebody/narrowbody types would be an advantage 
Education Requirements
• A recognised aeronautical or engineering degree, however other internationally recognised aeronautical qualifications will be considered based on technical knowledge and experience 
• A recognised aeronautical apprenticeship would be an advantage 
• Must be fluent in English both written and spoken 
• Knowledge of German and/or French would be an advantage
Personal Skills
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment

Qualification/Experience
