A position has come available as Principle Security Engineer with Defence and Security based in Newport, South Wales. The position will see the candidate reporting into the Head of Security at the Centre of Competence (CoC) UK, as well as the project manager and functional manager; they will be part of a team responsible for undertaking the security analysis and documentation production within the system.
The role offers the individual the chance to work within a growing part of the business, in a domain which is fundamental to the strategic goals of the organization. It also offers a career with the future prospect of joining the Security Expert Scheme in EADS.
Tasks
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the following:
- Undertaking project security activities and produce associated documents;

Tasks
Working as part of a team of Landing Gear Systems Engineers your main role will be to support the Designated Certification Specialist (DCS) and the design teams in demonstrating the certification compliance of ATA32 (Landing Gear Systems), to the Airworthiness Authorities (EASA), for a number of programmes including the A30X. 
Your key responsibilities will be;
- preparing and presenting certification documentation for submission to EASA; you will, on occasion, also present compliance evidence to non-EASA authorities;

- managing the production of certification compliance documentation in accordance with the development demands of the project;

- assisting the ATA32 certification activities associated with major modifications, weight variants and engine variants by obtaining associated commitments from the design teams to provide the required inputs on schedule;

Technical authoring for proposals is another key role that will need to be undertaken as part of the job.
The ability to assimilate the big picture and liaise technically at all levels to progress system definition is central to this role as is an understanding of the lifecycle of space mission projects and the ability to interface with customers, industrial team partners and sub-contractors.
The role is based at the Portsmouth site but willingness to travel in Europe to support meetings, reviews, verification campaigns etc is essential.
