The CAA is the UK’s independent civil aviation regulator. With an influence that reaches around the globe, we uphold exemplary safety standards and help to shape the future of the entire industry.
The role
The UK has one of the best records for aviation safety in the world. As a body responsible for the regulation of the civil aviation industry, we rely on the expertise of our people to achieve the highest standards.
The data on which the safety of UK skies depends has to be rock solid, immaculately researched and cogently presented. So if your background is in sourcing, analysing and presenting complex data, and if exceptional quality and accuracy are something of a passion with you, then few roles in the aviation industry will hold as much appeal.
The ideal candidate
You'd be joining a small team of like-minded people and your remit would be broad - proactively identifying what data is needed to make robust informed decisions; in time liaising with, and even chairing, external working groups; presenting your findings to people who may lack your technical expertise but who don't lack seniority.
Statistics, engineering, science - your degree discipline will certainly be numerate and you will have relevant analytical and aviation-related experience. But however impressive your qualifications are, you'll also be a people person - a valued team member and someone whose recommendations command respect. You'll be happy varying your data presentation and approach to different people and situations: What never varies is your own professional judgement.
As a talented individual yourself, here at the CAA you will work with a great team of colleagues, who have a real sense of achievement and satisfaction in their work and a sense of pride in their contribution to ours.
Closing date: 28th November 2009.
