The purpose of this position is to provide an Avionics Mechanic for C-17 aircraft. This position will require relocation to Hungary, first or second shift work may be required, and periods of on-call support and will be cross utilized to perform servicing and team member activities. Travel will be required to support remote maintenance activities and to recover inoperative forward deployed aircraft. Successful completion of C-17 maintenance training is a job requirement. Applicant must have or be able to get a secret security clearance. Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Supports the configuration of aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment as required. Ability to operate shop equipment in the inspection, repair, and recharging aircraft batteries a plus. Troubleshoots complex avionics, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical control systems to isolate electrical or mechanical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). May provide training to less qualified mechanics. Works under general direction.
