Based in Hertfordshire our client is the part of this group responsible for the design, manufacture and testing of high performance Radomes for aerospace &amp; defence applications.
At this facility our client deals with the initial design, through development to manufacture, test and in-service support of high performance Radomes.
With products and services ranging from fast jet nose radomes and missile system radomes to civil airline nose radome repair and testing and a total of over 80 staff (mainly professional engineering and skilled composite technicians) our client's standards form the industry benchmark.
Candidate should be degree qualified or similar in a relevant discipline and possess detailed experience of working with composites in a precision industry (e.g. Aerospace, top-level motorsport). 
Role:
The responsibilities of the job are diverse and include contributing to new product design in respect to material, process and tooling definition, detailed tool design, manufacturing process proving and compilation of product manufacturing method documentation, and instruction of technicians in manufacturing new products. Also, the engineer will be required to assist his assigned production module with the resolution of day-to-day manufacturing problems and monitor and correct recurring non-conformances. This position is particularly suited to an innovative candidate focused upon Manufacturing and Materials with the drive and ambition to optimise process and tooling approaches.

The skills and experience necessary to fulfil this role are:
Detailed knowledge of a range of composite materials.
Detailed knowledge of a range of composite manufacturing processes
Detailed knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Lean principles
CAD and CNC programming knowledge is an advantage but not a pre-requisite
Good team-working ethos
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

You should ideally possess a good first degree in a relevant discipline and proven post-graduate experience in the composites industry, preferably in the aerospace or automotive sector. 
The responsibilities of the job are diverse, ranging from assisting in new business acquisition by generating conceptual designs to support proposals, through detailed structural and environmental design, to qualification and certification. 
The skills and experience necessary to fulfil this role are
" Composite component structural design 
" Linear and dynamic stress analysis of composites using FE codes such as I-DEAS /NASTRAN (preferably NX or MSC) 
" Good CAD design and drafting skills, preferably using CATIA v5 
" Good team-working ethos 
" Ability to communicate effectively at all levels 
The successful candidate will report to the Mechanical Design Group Team Leader

The company is currently recruiting in a number of disciplines to fulfil the demands of an impressive and expanding order book and have recently added significantly to the strength of the Engineering Department. Their product range is extensive, extending from large radome primary structure on fast jets such as Typhoon to small high temperature components for Rolls Royce engines.
To support new &amp; existing opportunities they have a requirement for a Composite Development Engineer at their Shepshed site.
The main roles and responsibilities are
" Assist in the design for manufacture/application for new exciting applications
" Aid, prove, document and manage the introduction of components into production
" Develop manufacturing and knowledge capabilities by supporting our goal to be a world class leader.
" Improvement of existing processes and tooling methodologies
" Support and development of working practices for Quality and NADCAP approvals
" Provide technical support both internally and externally to customers
Applicants must have, 
" At least, a degree qualification in an engineering or materials discipline with a good understanding of composites. 
" Catia skills would be an added advantage. 
" Previous experience in a similar role is required.
" The ability to work effectively with a wide range of people is essential together with the ability to demonstrate and implement innovative solutions. 
" Self motivated and determination combined with an enthusiastic attitude are also important attributes. 
The successful candidate will be based at the Shepshed, Leicestershire site, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
