A vacancy has arisen within the Fluid Mechancial Rig Design and Test Group (EVMUM) to support development and deployment of fluid mechanical Test Means. 
To be responsible for ensuring a continuous development of the fuel system test facility and it's associated processes which are critical to sucessful test programme completion.
You will be required to:
Manage all technical aspects of test means design through implemention of the necessary standards and methods and utilisation of bespoke fluid mechanical testing facilities. 
Gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the Fuel Systems Test Facility in conjunction with developing a working understanding of aircraft fuel systems
Responsible for developing testing strategies to support Fuel System Design Verification.
Support Fluid Mechanical Test Engineers in;
Delivering the test means and test outputs to verify design requirements through testing
Specifying design rules and methodologies to produce bespoke test equipment and rigs
Working with sub-contract manufacturers and designers of test equipment and rigs
Defining and developing fuel system test methods and processes to enhance test capability
Ensuring Test Means Configuration is accurately recorded to allow test traceability
Advising Systems Design Office on test methods to maximise use of test means
Developing test programme schedules for fluid mechanical rig test
Witnessing and evaluation of fuel system component qualification testing and test means capability
Manage fuel system test facility design and working processes modification &amp; upgrade
Provide EVMU input into the Fuel System Design Verification matrix on the test methods by which fuel system design will be validated
Participate in all project meetings/reviews in conjunction with Systems CoC Design Office
Deliver project outputs to time cost and quality
Ensure that all generic technical and administrative practices required by the project are adhered to
Support value creation initiatives
Essential
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical/Aeronautical engineering
Knowledge of hydromechanical systems operation, including experience of fluid mechanical component and sub-system testing principles
Experience:
in test equipment/rig design &amp; manufacture
of working in an Hazardous Area classified under BS EN 60079-10
of specifying equipment for use in Hazardous Areas
Understanding of Validation and Verification processes.
A strong personal drive is required in this challenging role to achieve effective project deliverables aimed at delivering customer overall satisfaction.

Person Specification
1. The ability to analyse complex problems and identify the most critical issues.
2. Degree or equivalent in the appropriate discipline.
3. Knowledge of the techniques of Systems Engineering.
4. Sufficient knowledge of the range of disciplines involved in the product design to be able to identify the best design compromises.
5. Appropriate knowledge in the way in which the product is to be operated.
6. Experience in the management of business and technical interfaces.
7. Sufficient experience to be able to identify unusual characteristics and other departures from normal practice that may require deeper investigation.
Because of the nature of the work associated with this post, it is subject to all selected candidates being required to undergo detailed security clearance. You will need to have been resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years in order for full security checks to be processed.
