Our client specialises in the design and production of high quality components and systems for applications in the civil and defence Aviation / Aerospace markets. With over 50,000 staff and customers in 150 countries they are suppliers to a large majority of the world's aircraft manufacturers, and support equipment in the field with airlines and air forces worldwide.
A position has just come up for which they require a Quality Engineer for their Midlands office.
Key responsibilties for the role include:
- Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
- Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects. 
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements. 
- Develop and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare corrective action responses necessary.
- Host Source inspectors and/or Customer Auditors as needed.
- Prepare and present material to customer representatives and/or employees as required.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
- Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
- Supervise other personnel as assigned or required. 
- Other duties as assigned.
Required experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment. 
- Ability to read and understand blue prints, specifications, and requirements.
- Knowledge of machining, assembly operations, gauging, SPC, APQP, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Experience in performing Quality Audits.
- Experience using PC configured with MS Windows OS. Familiarity with MS Office software is desired.
- Project Management experience is preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Membership of the CQI (Chartered Quality Institute), IQA (Institute of Quality Assurance)is preffered

Selected candidate will team with our composite development and manufacturing center supporting composites intensive prototype projects and existing programs. The position requires exceptional team focus and support through a broad range of tasks related to composite development/qualification/certification and production support. This position requires intimate involvement with product from initial concept to final delivery. The applicant must have broad knowledge of carbon, fiberglass and Kevlar based prepreg materials, solid laminate and honeycomb based construction, wet lay-up, secondary bonding and vacuum bagging techniques. Working knowledge of tooling, machining and fastener installation is required.
Position requires leadership in attention to detail regarding correct and complete shop traveler and computer based documentation. Work with others as part of a team which includes giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in completion of tasks. Must possess interpersonal, listening, and participation skills.
