    News | 09 Jul 2014 09:20

Friday 4th July 2014 marked the return of Avianca to London Heathrow airport. The carrier had last operated the Bogota-London route in 2001 using a Boeing 767-200 aircraft. British Airways, who also operated the route as a tag-on via Caracas had suspended services in 2005. The 4th July flight is the latest addition to Avianca’s network. The carrier’s management had lobbied hard to acquire the necessary slots for the operations and the deal was five years in the waiting. The airline was able to secure slots for four flights per week, on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday.http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/PICTURES-Aviancas-return-to-Heathrow-401114/
