    <P><A href="http://www.eosairlines.com/">A&nbsp;US bankruptcy court approved an auction for the sale of premium carrier Eos Airlines and its assets.</A><BR><BR>The carrier filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 26 after a potential capital injection never materialised. Eos ceased operations shortly after its filing.<BR>Eos flew Boeing 757s in a 48-seat configuration from London Stansted to New York and was preparing to launch new service to Newark and Dubai.<BR><BR>A deadline of tomorrow has been set for bid submissions for the assets, followed by an auction on June 9.<BR><BR>Eos says it hopes to sell the business to a party interested in restarting the carrier, or sell all of its most valuable assets to one or more purchasers.<FONT color=#0000ff><U><BR></FONT></U></P> <P> <HR> <P></P><A href="http://www.ila-berlin.de/ila2008/home/index_e.cfm"> <P><STRONG><FONT color=#800080>Visit&nbsp;the official Berlin Air Show site</FONT></STRONG></P></A> <P><STRONG><FONT colohttp://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/ILA-2008-Court-approves-EOS-auction-224140/

    <P>All -premium carrier <A href="http://www.maxjet.com" target=_blank>Maxjet&nbsp;Airways</A> ceased operations on 24 December and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after failing to finalize a new round of financing.</P> <P>“With today’s fuel prices and the resulting impact on the credit climate for airlines, we are forced to take this drastic measure,” the carrier says in a statement. </P> <P>The airline earlier in December temporarily suspended trading of its shares on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange, to clarify its financial position. </P> <P>At the time the carrier was in advanced discussions to secure financing for working capital, and expected the deal to close by year-end. “However, the company’s board of directors has now determined the proposed financing is unlikely to succeed in a timely manner, and after careful consideration determined to file the voluntary petition,” Maxjet says. </P> <P><IMG style="WIDTH: 450px; HEIGHT: 259px" althttp://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/Maxjet-ceases-operations-files-for-Chapter-11-220537/
