<BODY LINK="#0000ff" VLINK="#800080"> <P>The board of Litton Industries has elected Michael Brown as the company's new chairman and Harry Halamandaris as executive vice president and chief operating officer.</P> <P>Brown is already president and CEO of Woodland Hills, California-based Litton, and will succeed 65-year old John Leonis as chairman. Leonis is retiring, but will remain a Litton board member.</P> <P>Brown's election fulfils a previously announced management-succession plan that recognised Leonis' required retirement under Litton Industries' employment policy.</P> <P>Leonis was named Litton's president and CEO in 1994 following the spin-off of Western Atlas, and was elected chairman in 1995.</P> <P>Brown joined Litton in 1968 as a divisional marketing manager, and rose through the ranks to become executive vice president and chief operating officer in 1995.</P> <P>Halamandaris joined Litton in 1995 after serving as a vice president and group executive with Kaiser Aerohttp://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/Litton-Industries-appoints-new-chairman-COO-235833/
