    <P>Mexicana today unveiled plans to launch a new regional carrier with a fleet of 13 second hand 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets.</P> <P>The Mexican airline group announced at a press conference today that Mexicana Inter will launch services on 15 March and operate several domestic routes which were formerly operated by ALMA.</P> <P>Guadalajara-based ALMA was a low-cost regional carrier which operated CRJ100s and CRJ200s until last November, when it suddenly ceased operations. Mexicana says Mexicana Inter will initially operate several routes from Guadalajara, including to Puerto Vallarta, Torreon, Monterrey, Mazatlan, Chihuahua, Juarez, Veracruz and Tampico.</P> <P>Mexicana says Mexicana Inter will eventually operate 13 CRJ200s on 25 domestic routes with about 500 employees.     Delta Air Lines has received tentative approval from the US Department of Transportation to begin a daily Boeing 757 service between Atlanta and Bogota, Colombia, on 1 December. From 1 August, Delta, with SkyTeam partner Aeromexico, will add codeshare services between Mexico City and Durango, and Mexico City and Torreon. It will also reinstate codeshare flights between Mexico City and Cuidad Obregon and Los Mochis. Flights between Monterrey and Acapulco begin on 1 September. Air Canada has begun daily non-stop Boeing 767 services between Amsterdam and Toronto. Vanguard Airlines starts a twice-daily service to New Orleans from Kansas City on 1 August. Swissair is increasing services between Geneva and Paris from five to seven daily round trips from 29 October. The extra flights will be operated by Swissair's French partner airline AOM. All seven services will serve Paris Orly rather than Paris Charles de Gaulle, to provide better transport links with central Paris.     Hawaiian Airlines and Continental Airlines have begun codesharing on flights between the continental USA and Hawaii. The agreement puts Continental's code on 150 daily jet flights operated by Hawaiian throughout the islands. Continental Airlines has begun daily services between New York Newark and Tel Aviv. A Houston-Sao Paulo service will begin in November. Air Canada has inaugurated its 50th new cross-border route since the 1995 Canada-US Open Skies agreement, with the start of daily services between Ottawa and Washington National. It plans additional flights in the near future. Ghana Airways aims to begin new services soon from its Accra base to Atlanta and Toronto, following a recent joint co-operation agreement with Ethiopian Airlines and South African Airways. Mexican regional airline AeroLitoral has begun services from Dallas/Fort Worth to Piedras Negras, with one round-trip flight daily originating from and continuing to Torreon.
