  • Yamal suspends 737s over Kazan crash concerns

    News | 23 Jan 2014 18:49 | David Kaminski-Morrow

Russian carrier Yamal has suspended services with its Boeing 737s after analysing last November's fatal accident involving a Tatarstan Airlines aircraft.Yamal operates a range of types including several 737-400s and -500s.The carrier says it is suspending the 737 services to carry out activities intended to "reduce the risk of spontaneous deviation or jamming" of the elevator.Yamal adds that it took the decision after analysing information about the Tatarstan crash at Kazan on 17 November. It has not clarified the source of its data.Russian investigators have yet to reach conclusions over the cause of the accident, during which the 737-500 sharply dived into the ground while executing a go-around.Yamal operates a broad network primarily covering European and Russian cities, mainly out of Moscow and Tyumen.http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/Yamal-suspends-737s-over-Kazan-crash-concerns-395173/
