  • Uzbek technical division to perform MRO for VIM-Avia 757s


    <P><A href="http://www.uzairways.com/">Uzbekistan&nbsp;Airways’ </A>technical division is to perform maintenance services on the <A href="http://www.boeing.com/commercial/757family/index.html">Boeing&nbsp;757-200</A> fleet of Russian carrier <A href="http://www.vim-avia.com/">VIM-Avia.</A></P> <P>The division says it will perform C-checks on the type and expects to take the first two aircraft from the Moscow-based airline in April.</P> <P>Uzbekistan Airways already performs maintenance checks on aircraft operated by Krasnoyarsk-based operator KrasAir.</P> <P><BR>Source: flightglobal.com's sister premium news site <A href="http://www.rati.com">Air&nbsp;Transport Intelligence</A> news <BR></P>

    <P>Airliner net orders came in at -36 in October as 35 new orders were offset by 71 cancellations, with another 8 swaps.</P> <P>Ryanair took over orders for 10 737s, Brit Air ordered six CRJs while Croatia Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways ordered four A319 and 767 types respectively. China Southern Airlines swapped seven A319 orders for A321 while Qatar Airways swapped an A319 for a A320. US business aviation management company Petters Aviation has cancelled six A318 Elite ACJs but the major cancellation for October came from collapsed US low-cost start-up <A href="http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2008/04/07/222786/skybus-plans-chapter-11-filing-on-monday.html">Skybus&nbsp;Airlines</A> with 65 A319.</P> <P>Boeing led the way with 14 net new orders for the month followed by Airbus and Bombardier with 9 each.
