This year’s International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) annual general meeting is being held in Kuala Lumpur between 7-9 June. Airline leaders meet
this summer with the industry facing even more challenges than a year ago in Istanbul.
IATA director general and chief executive Giovanni Bisignani says: “The AGM has become a wonderful opportunity for leaders of the international airline
community to exchange views on the challenges facing our industry and strategies for success.
In the face of recession, the industry is showing that it can drive greater efficiency and continue to improve its already high level of safety
performance. We continue to fight for regulatory freedom and a common-sense approach to climate change. All of these issues and more will be on our agenda in
Kuala Lumpur.”
IATA represents around 230 airlines.
