Aircraft Profile: Embraer Phenom 300

Embraer is confident its Phenom 300 will be a class leader despite its late entrance into the light business jet category.

The aircraft is earmarked for certification in the third quarter of 2009 and the Brazilian airframers says it will offer premium comfort, outstanding performance and low operating cost with range, baggage space and speed performance targets that compare well to its competitors.

Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E engines, each delivering 3,200lb of thrust, the Phenom 300 will accommodate up to nine people, and will have a range of 1,800nm (3,333km) with six people onboard, while cruising at speeds of up to Mach 0.78 (830kmh) are expected.

The cockpit features Embraer's Prodigy flight deck, based on Garmin´s G1000 avionics system, featuring three 12-inch displays, with two PFDs and one multi-function display (the same as in the Phenom 100).

Heritage:

The Phenom 300 was announced at an investment analysts meeting in Washington in May 2005 and unveiled at EBACE a few weeks later, with the Phenom brand being announced at NBAA later that year.

The aircraft – the fourth member of Embraer’s business aircraft portfolio and its second clean sheet design - was introduced partly as a move-up aircraft for Phenom 100 customers.

First flight was made on 29 April 2008
