Ground staff at Liverpool John Lennon Airport are planning strike action this week over proposed job losses at ground services provider Servisair.
Members of the GMB union have voted to stop work for two separate two-hour periods on 23 November and certain following days.
However, the airport operator does not expect any flight disruption, as Servisair plans to bring in replacement staff from other locations, Liverpool Airport said.
Easyjet flights, which account for around half of the airport's passengers, would not be affected at all as the budget carrier uses the Servisair subsidiary Smart, whose staff will not take part in the strike, it added.
Servisair's direct employees want to down tools on 23 November from 05:00 to 07:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00 local time. This is to be followed by similar two-hour stoppages, 05:00-07:00 and 19:15-21:15, on 25 November.
On Sunday 27 November, the union plans a single two-hour walk-out between 16:00 and 18:00, while Monday 28 November, could see two strike periods of two hours at 05:00-07:00 and 19:00-21:00.
This pattern is to be repeated over the following weeks.
The union said it has organised the strikes over plans by Servisair to cut 47 jobs at the airport and replace full-time positions with part-time contracts and flexible work hours.
