American Airlines received bankruptcy court approval to implement contracts with the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) and the mechanics & related and stores group represented by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) today.

The mechanic group voted to ratify its tentative agreement with American on 8 August, rounding out the last of the seven TWU-represented workgroups to ratify agreements. The union represents about 24,000 employees at the airline.

Flight attendants ratified their agreement with the airline on 20 August. However, APFA continues to show strong support for a merger between US Airways and American.

The Allied Pilots Association remain at odds with the airline and begun a strike vote today that will be tallied by 3 October.
