AAI, Uttar Pradesh sign airport development agreement

Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the state government of Uttar Pradesh have signed a memorandum of understanding on airport development.

The agreement will cover the development of airports in Meerut, Moradabad, Faizabad and new civil enclaves in Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly and Kanpur, says the country’s Ministry of Civil Aviation in a statement.

As part of the deal, Uttar Pradesh’s government has handed over the Meerut, Moradabad, Faizabad airports to AAI for development. It will also provide land and logistical support to develop the civil enclaves at four other cities, the ministry adds.
