Operating lessor Aviation Capital Group has selected Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) to provide 11-pallet configuration freighter conversion on a high-gross-weight Boeing 737-400 passenger jet.

The 1997-vintage aircraft, MSN 28661, is powered by CFM56-3C1 engines. It was previously operated by Garuda Indonesia under a five-year lease agreement.

The transaction marks the fifth time Aviation Capital Group has converted a 737-400 passenger aircraft into a freighter.

The speculative conversion is expected to be completed in mid November 2012, says AEI, at which time the freighter will be available for immediate lease.
