Greece's Aegean Airlines has acquired four slots at London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle from flag-carrier Olympic Air.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed "financial consideration", follows Olympic Air's decision to drop London and Paris, as well as other destinations, from its schedule.

Olympic Air and Aegean had been attempting to merge but the plan was blocked by European competition regulators.

Aegean says that the slot acquisition took place on 4 March.
