Aer Lingus passenger traffic up 1.9% in August

Aer Lingus has recorded 1.9% year-on-year growth in passenger traffic for August.

Passenger load factor for the month rose 1.6 percentage points to 87.3%.

Long-haul traffic increased 6.6%, while short-haul traffic fell by 0.3%, the Irish flag carrier says.

It recorded a 0.4% year-on-year decrease in overall passenger numbers to 1.01 million in August.

Passenger numbers on short-haul routes decreased by 1.2%, while long-haul passenger numbers were up 7.3%.

Passenger numbers at Aer Lingus Regional grew 35.4% to 107,000.
