Aer Lingus traffic up 9.3% in February

Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus recorded a 9.3% increase in traffic on a 7.6% growth in capacity in February, compared with the same month last year.

Load factor for the month rose by a single percentage point to 67.3%.

Long-haul traffic increased 15.4% while short-haul traffic rose by 6.8%.

Aer Lingus recorded a 7.5% year-on-year rise in overall passenger numbers to 599,000 in February. Passenger numbers on short-haul routes increased 6.9% to 554,000 while long-haul passenger numbers were up 15.4%, at 45,000.

Passenger numbers at Aer Lingus Regional grew 22.9% to 59,000.
