Russian investigators have disclosed that an Aeroflot Airbus A321 skidded off the runway while landing in poor weather at Perm.

The aircraft (VP-BUM) had been conducting a service from Moscow Sheremetyevo on 19 March when the incident occurred at about 03:35, as it touched down on runway 21.

Preliminary data from the Ural region transport investigative committee states that the aircraft attempted to brake but overran and “spun”. There were no injuries among those on board, it adds.

Meteorological data from Perm shows snow and low visibility conditions at the time.
