Aeroflot interim operating profit rises by 70%

Russia's Aeroflot Group has increased its first-half operating profit by 70% to $167 million.

The airline company has detailed its performance for the first six months of 2013 under international financial reporting standards.

Overall revenues for the period were up by 14% to $4.1 billion and the company has posted EBITDA of $352 million, up 42% on last year's interim figure.

Aeroflot Group's net profit, however, was only $1.5 million, down on the $7.1 million recorded in the first half of 2012.
