Russian flag-carrier Aeroflot has turned in a $296 million net profit at the nine-month stage, under international accounting standards.

The airline says its group revenues rose by 54% to just over $6 billion, the result of consolidation of several regional carriers.

Aeroflot's operating expenditure rose to $5.6 billion because of this expansion, and in the first nine months of 2012 the company's operating profit reached $425 million.
